Mother's Day Cards
Hope you are having a great week. Here are some Mother's Day Cards for the current Hero Arts Blog challenge. I really like the new sewing-related stamps from Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn, especially since I have been doing some sewing lately.
I used scraps of fabric from a project I am working on to make a quilted background for the first card.
There are vintage snaps on the second card. The pattern piece (stamped on a vintage pattern) and a scrap of fabric (same as above) were cut out and held together with a needle.
I placed fabric (same as above) in the window card below and attached the pattern with a tiny pin with a couple of beads on the end. The Lawn Fawn sentiment worked perfectly with the Hero Arts stamps!
Stamp(s): Hero Arts (CL429 Simply Handmade, CL397 Sew Original, CG190 Variety And Quality; CL401 Speckled Ornaments, CG119 Flourish Background); Lawn Fawn (Sew Lovely)
Ink(s): Memories (White); ColorBox (Chestnut Roan); Tsukineko (Rich Cocoa)
Paper(s): Hero Arts (Carnation Folded Card); The Paper Cut (Folded Cards); The Paper Company (Kraft), McCall's (Vintage Pattern Scrap)
Other: Hero Arts (Pearls); JoAnn's (Fabric); Imaginisce.com (Button Brads); Bobbin Ribbon (Ribbon); Singer (Vintage Snaps, Needle)
Thanks for looking! Comments are appreciated!

Shaker Cards Part 2
Hope you are having a great Saturday or "Cat"urday if you get to spend it with your kitties like I do! Dusty and Penny were napping sweetly on the floor in my messy craft room for a moment, but that was in between causing havoc! Oddly enough Dusty just jumped off my desk. He must have seen what I typed!
Here are more cards that I made in the "Shake It" class with Sarah from ThePaperCut! If you would like to see Part 1, please click HERE.
This one almost makes me wish it was autumn:
This one is for happy birthday wishes:
This one is for Valentine's Day or everyday:
This one is for a brand new baby:
Stamp(s): Impression Obsession
Paper(s): The Paper Cut
Ok, I really must clean up in here now, including kicking the kitties out of my craft closet! I have been really busy making cards for Operation Write Home. There are cards, stamps, punches and other supplies and stuff everywhere. I think it is time to pack this batch up in a big box and send them on their way next week! Have a great day!

Shaker Cards Part 1
TGIF! Hope you are doing well.
In early March I went to the Heirloom Productions Indianapolis Rubber Stamp & Paper Festival. It was a lot of fun and I even had a chance to take a few classes. I promised to share the cards and here is the first set!
This class was called "Shake It" and it was all about shaker cards. Sarah from ThePaperCut was the instructor.
I like these pretty flowers w/ FlowerSoft:
I'm not much of a shoe person (and definitely not high heels), but this was fun to make:
I also made this pretty beach scene:
Stamp(s): Impression Obsession
Paper(s): The Paper Cut
I have another batch of shaker cards to share later (click HERE for Part 2). Have a great weekend!

Shabby Chic Bird House
I hope you had a great weekend. I went to Dayton, OH yesterday for two great classes. It was nice so nice to see some sweet people again. I will post more about the classes when I finish up the cards. Big Thanks to hubby for driving and entertaining himself with a movie and shopping while I was busy stamping.
Here is a project I made for the Hero Arts Blog Home and Mother's Day Challenge. I found this unfinished birdhouse for 75% off at Archiver's a couple weekends ago. I think it cost less than $3!
Stamp(s): Hero Arts (CL408, CL402, CG139, CG119, K5313, LP169)
Ink(s): Hero Arts (Grass, Soft Leaf); Ranger (Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Victorian Velvet, Brushed Corduroy); ColorBox (Chestnut Roan); Memories (White)
Paint(s): Ranger (Snow Cap [Dabber], Picket Fence, Broken China, Tattered Rose [Crackle Paints])
Paper(s): Neenah (Classic Crest Solar White); The Paper Company (Kraft)
Other: KaiserCraft (Birdhouse); Hero Arts (CH137 Pearls); Copic (Assorted Markers); Prima (Flowers)

Hugs,
P.S. Anyone have tips or tricks for formatting in Blogger? It always seems to want to add too many and/or not enough line breaks (drives me nuts)! Thanks!

Quilting with Hero Arts Stamps (Cling & Digi)
Have you seen The Brothers Bloom? There is a great line in that movie that sounds a lot like me... "I collect hobbies." Here is a little clip. LOL
Anyway to add to my many hobbies I took a Quilting 101 class on Saturday. Here is the quilt block I made in class:
This next one is my favorite. Not too bad for a beginner! It is a mini wall quilt (slighty larger than 12" x 12") that I made using the Hero Arts Big Blue Owl DigiKit. I just opened the owl stamp in PhotoShop Elements, resized it to fit my center fabric blocks, and then printed four owls on cotton inkjet fabric paper. I followed the same process above to attach the owls to my fabric.
Anyway to add to my many hobbies I took a Quilting 101 class on Saturday. Here is the quilt block I made in class:
I couldn't wait to get home and try quilting with some of my Hero Arts stamps for the new "Home" challenge! For this first mini quilt wall hanging (approx. 16" x 5") I stamped the Hero Arts Cling CG134 Large Flower multiple times directly on my fabric. I attached the flowers to some fusible interfacing, cut them out, pieced them back together, and ironed in place on my fabric squares. I used Copic markers on some parts of the flowers for variety and added orange fabric brads in the center.
It was lots of fun to make these and I'm already thinking of how to combine more Hero Arts stamps with my new quilting hobby!
