hello

Here is a card I made in a Jennifer McGuire class. Love the colors achieved by using markers directly on the stamp and then misting lightly with water. The torn edge, big ribbon and soft pearls are the perfect finish.

Holiday Thinking Inking Week 4

Hope you are having a great weekend! I'm taking Monday off so it is a three-day weekend for me. Yay!

Here are the cards I made for Week 4 of Jennifer McGuire's Holiday Thinking Inking class at twopeasinabucket.com. This week was all about paint dabbers. Lots of fun.

The letterpress technique hasn't worked very well yet. I'll keep trying.

Fun with Fabric Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 (ATCs) of Donna Downey's Fun with Fabric class!

These ATCs started as a blank canvas and then we painted everything with watercolors (more on that later). Here are the fabric ATCs once painted, embellished and sewn together (see close-ups on Flickr).

I had purchased two sets of watercolors to get a variety of colors. One was $5 and one was about $30 - 50% coupon = $15. Wouldn't you know it, the $5 set worked the best and gave the best colors! Oh well. I really liked the watercolor painting.

This next set is similar but made on paper. I like how the lady (from Donna's She Said set) turned out on paper. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol on this set.

In other news, hubby just purchased a domain name for me... http://www.dustypenny.com/. Cool! I love having a techie hubby.

October Card Chain Challenge

Deborah hosted another fun Card Chain Challenge in October. Deborah is celebrating the challenge's one year anniversary. It is a lot of fun to participate and receive a handmade card each month.

This is the card I sent to Jan in California. I used Deborah's sketch and Halloween theme. The stamps are by Hero Arts and Papertrey Ink.

Elise sent me this card from Ohio. The purple and kraft look so nice together. I never would have thought to stamp the holly leaves in purple, but it looks lovely. Thanks so much, Elise!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hubby is going to watch football while I go craft.

Fun with Fabric Week 3

Welcome to Week 3 (Messenger Bag) of Donna Downey's Fun with Fabric class!

This messenger bag started as a blank canvas and we painted it with Carbon Black Golden fluid acrylic paint. I may go over a couple areas again, but it has some nice variations in shade.

Holidays by Hero Arts Card Workshop

Here are the cards I made a few weeks ago in the Holidays by Hero Arts Card Workshop at Archiver's. The cards look prettier in real life. It was hard to capture all the shine and shimmer in photos.
