Miscellaneous

This weekend I took three fun classes in Princeton, Indiana with Sally Lynn MacDonald of Inky Heart: Copic Markers 101 – What? How? & WOW!; Glimmer Mist Techniques: Haunted Shadows album; and Clearly Capable – aka ‘Let No Surface Remain UnInked’ – Fall Theme.

You will have to stay tuned for pictures at a later date because we didn't have time to finish our projects. However, it was a lot of fun!

There is a great little store there caller Paper Chase Arts, too. I found tons of cool things that no one seems to carry here in the Indianapolis area.

I also met Tammy Tutterow of Fairy Davis briefly. I really like her website -- tons of free vintage images for use in your artwork!

And speaking of vintage, I coerced my lovely husband (who also graciously drove me to and from my classes) into going to the antique mall while we were there. I gave him a list of things I was looking for, and he did just great:

--a big jar of buttons,
--a 1951 Winston Dictionary for Schools,
--four sets of vintage sheet music dating 1924-1925,
--three blank postcards, and
--two postcards with 1 cent stamps dating 1944 and 1947

I wish more people would check out Artist Class. I am really happy that I was asked to participate. There are tons of fun projects besides my digital ATC's including:

--a cake made out of books and covered with vintage lace
--a memory album from a vintage record album book with lots of pockets for souvenirs
--a pretty fabric-lined box for storing treasures
--one-of-a-kind rings from discarded vintage earrings, shoe buckles, and buttons
--altered vintage keys to use in assemblage work and as charms and pendants
--a Voodoo heart box
--an altered tin and gift tags
--sweet paper doll dresses

And how about another little freebie featuring a beautiful woodgrain image from Green Paper (*.png and *.jpg)? It is perfect for your masculine-themed cards and scrapbook pages!

Sprinkled with FUN

My last card for this week's challenge on the Hero Arts Blog. This card is sprinkled with fun little buttons and cookie cutters (tree, heart, star, gingerbread man) by Jessie James, Inc. I just love them. I stitched around the circle with metallic floss -- seemed like a good idea but it kept getting knotted up. I changed the sentiment from the cupcake set from "day" to "holiday" to go with this week's theme. I think this would be a good card to give someone along with some homemade cookies! I colored the image with Copics -- still practicing. Thanks for looking.

My First Mini Kit: Spot Check!

I am officially a first time digikit designer! I have been learning so much in Photoshop Elements and wanted to make a Mini Kit for the October Colour Challenge on digiscrapobsession.net!

My Mini Kit is called "Spot Check" and includes: 5 crumpled spotty papers, 5 stitched squares, and 5 shiny brads. I made some other items and would consider doing an Add-On if you like this!

Archiver's Recipe for Gift-Giving Workshop

I took the Archiver's Recipe for Gift Giving Workshop featuring fun Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper and embellishments. Isn't this cute?

We started with a Maya Road chipboard album with an acrylic stand and inked the plain chipboard with ColorBox mini inks in Daffodil, Glacier Ice, Pistachio, and Scarlet. It was messy and took awhile, but the colors go with the papers beautifully. Next we rounded the corners and inked the edges of the papers, then started cutting and assembling (my favorite part)!

I really like the cover. The "good eats" title is American Crafts white fabric Thickers that we colored with Tattered Angels Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist. Messy, but such an impact. And I just love those Cosmo Cricet Sugar and Spice chipboard pieces and the cookbook paper behind the title.

Here are a few more samples from the inside:

This cute little Hero Arts penguin is colored with Copic markers. Gingham ribbon is Martha Stewart. LIttle snowballs are Crystal Stickers. The frame is blue metallic, but it doesn't show up well here.

I tried to cover all the upcoming holidays in one card! The metal frames are my "holiday accessory". I colored the images with Copic markers.

Cards for Eric

Here are the cards I made for Cards for Kate & Eric. This set is for Eric and his family. These cards were super fast to make because I used Kraft Kuts by Fancy Pants. The cute images come pre-perforated on 12" x 12" Kraft paper. All I had to do was punch them out and adhere them to my cards!

The sentiments are Hero Arts.

So my new obsession is AtomicCupcake.com. They have Photoshop Elements actions that I just love.

I also loved this vintage image from autumnsensation and knew I wanted to play with it! I used the Pristine Chipboard action on this kitchen image. Neat!

Always Friends ATC

Created for the Hero Arts Friendship ATC Swap and paperpiecing challenge. The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny and Deja Views. I stamped the image on it and on metallic paper for the bowl. I cut out, glued on and then used a white pen for the reflection. The flower is by Petaloo. Thanks for looking!
