Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas (My Day 2)
We took Friday off of work, left the kitties at home, and headed to Chicago for a quick visit. We shopped at two nice scrap and stamp stores, Windy City Scrapbooking and Stamp On In. Ok, I did the shopping, but Stephen had looked them up and planned our trips there (best husband ever!).
We had a lovely steak dinner at Keefer's, right by our hotel, the Amalfi. We had a nice cozy table right by the fireplace, great food, great service, and best of all, great company. Next we went to see Young Frankenstein at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Very funny and definitely worth the trip.
Anyway, here are the tags I created for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas based on Day 2 and using all Hero Arts stamps (my favorite stamps):
Hero Arts stamps: CL333 (Frame), CL285 (Flourish), and CL108 (Sentiment).
My other supplies were similar to the ones Tim used, but I had to make some substitutions. The rose flower was a a bit harder to make than it looked on Tim's website, but I think it came out ok. I had trouble with the pliers and holding the petals still while trying to bend and shape them. I only used the metal accents on one tag because I only have a few left!
Here are some close-ups -- the shiny dots of gold (Perfect Pearls mixed with water) are really pretty in person:
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I hope to get a lot of crafting in tomorrow while hubby is busy watching football.
Hugs,
dustypenny (aka Joy)
